Haye vows to QUIT boxing if he loses to Bellew

David Haye has vowed to retire from boxing unless he can beat Tony Bellew “emphatically” in their heavyweight grudge rematch.

The Hayemaker was beaten in a huge upset last March after rupturing an Achilles tendon mid-fight, but now has an opportunity to exact revenge on December 17.

The 36-year-old still has ambitions to recapture the world heavyweight title but is conscious of the need to dispatch the Bomber in style.

Haye said: “This is how serious it is. Even if I win, but it’s on a split decision, or I get legitimately knocked down, I’m not as good as I should be.

“If I’ve got ambitions to be the heavyweight champion of the world [again], you need to be able to deal with Tony Bellew comfortably — he’s not a heavyweight.

“If I can’t beat him emphatically, in exactly the manner I want, I’m not as good as I want to be. I can forget about world title aspirations.
